  • I'm going to ignore the "retarded" mark, and just try to be helpful:?

I see you wrote that you have 5 kids, are the other four step-children? I assume some are since you're 22 yrs old (and if they are all yours, please don't take that as judgemental rather than just an assumption).

I only ask because you may be able to know your increased chances of another set of fraternal twins if those were singletons you carried and THEN became pregnant with twins. It's well known that women tend to hyperovulate after having a number of children. If non of the other four are yours, then it very well could be that you just hyperovulate naturally, and you should def tell your current doc to keep taking peeks in there to check it out!

  • Why did you have your U/S when you did?  I'm not scheduled for one until 16-19 wks, for the first and only.  I thought that is typical unless you have concerns or are working with an R/E?
  • 2 of the kids are mine. i had my son first. a single birth , then my daughter, i lost her brother at 4 1/2 months. the rest are just his yes, thank god, that wouls be alot of children for somone my age to have physically birthed. lol

I felt the same way...really wanted to comment...but bit my tongue

  • At 5 1/2 weeks there were 3 babies but not all 3 had strong HBs.  At 8 weeks they were all still there and growing strong.
  • My periods have always been hit and miss, so we didnt really have a lmp to go by, so i had a sono 2 check the dates. all dr.s are diffrent with sono practices. some give them out like candy ( mine did) and others are very stingy and give you only one.

  • sorry about that "retarded" remark. wasnt trying to offend anyone. i guess i need to expand my descriptive vocabulary.  i just didnt think. sorry.

I'm glad you didn't take offense to that, I was trying to get to the point of your pregnancy-history to try and help.

Hmmm...well, I'd say it's definitely something you need to bring up and get an early u/s for to check. It's very normal to miss a twin pregnancy with a super early u/s and to find two later (mine were found by accident at 14 wks wtih a doppler since I was only going to have one u/s at 20 wks).

I'm sorry you lost your little boy during your last pregnancy. If this is a twin-pregnancy or not, I hope all is healthy - good luck.?

  • 8 wks,  they did an u/s b/c of my previous m/c and my dr. thought there was a possibility of twins due to my intensified symptoms
  • 6 weeks..(.i had an early ultrasound due to severe cramps)

No offense here; I love that word.  It drives me NUTS that peope take words to mean hateful things when it obviously isn't intended to be pointed at them, even if they are used in jest, or as slang.  Lighten up, for god's sake.  It's not like you said, "Mentally Retarded," which is a condition.  Especially with a word that doesn't even meanecessarily only mean a developmental delay:

?Now while I am not a sensitive person in general. I think a word like, "retarded" has better places to be used rather than a message board for babies and children - all I'm sayin. Trust me - my house is not very PC, but I try to use discretion in the right places, especially if the audience doesn't know me. You saying retard...well now, I would probably not assume the worst. But for any of the ladies on this board that it may offend for very obvious/sensitive reasons, I think?discretion is necessary.

I also don't recall anyone on this thread saying that word was "pointed at them". I think it was nicely pointed out, and not flamed.

  • No, no, no! Honest, I wasn't flaming, I wasn't saying anyone else was flaming, I swear!  I hear you 100% about the non-PC household and "in the comfort of my own home" thing vs. on a public forum correctness.  It just happens to be one of my pet peeves that I'm expected to curb who I am and the way I talk for the purpose of being in public.  What ever happened to accepting people for who they are?  I'm not saying everyone has to like me (and there are plenty who don't, LOL), but I should be allowed to be who I am and say what I want.  If someone else were to take offense to it, they could chalk it up to "that girl is so ignorant" or "that girl is heartless" or "what a B!"  LOL  I don't care.  Same reasons I don't care if other people swear around my children - it's my place to teach my kids what is and isn't acceptable, not other people's place to judge and get all uppity about it.  Not that you were uppity either.  Not at all.  I agree that it was pointed out VERY nicely and low key.  It's just one of those things that gets me going, having to watch what I say on the internet, which is probably more public and loose than going to a bar, LOL  KWIM?  Sorry; I didn't mean to point fingers or start flames...  Angel

  • 7w1D, I was dying to get into my RE's for the u/s, let me tell ya!!
