2nd Trimester

I just bought a gender prediction test from walgreens

Has anyone else used it? ?the directions says to use first morning urine... so i guess I am just going to have to wait till tomorrow. ?Our ultrasound is next week... but I can't wait any longer.

Re: I just bought a gender prediction test from walgreens

  • We opted not to waste our money on it and just wait for the ultrasound given the fact there's a 50/50 chance it will be right.?
  • Loading the player...
  • yeah, those things are a waste of money. they are accurate 50% of the time, just like guessing.

just wait for your u/s. i waited for mine.

  • Hmm You could have asked one of us... we would have given you a 50/50 answer too... sorry, but those things are the biggest rip-off.
  • There is no baby dna in your urine so they are basically a waste of money and right 50% of the time.
  • that kit = crock.
  • What is 1 more week when you've already waited 19??

  • I also think they are a waste of money, but I am curious  - how much was it?  I don't know. In the grand scheme, a week is nothing.  I'd rather put the money towards something else, but if you are happy then that's all that matters.
  • If you have extra moeny to waste, can you send it my way?  I just lost my job and could have given you a 50/50 guess on the gender of your baby for the money.
  • It was $29... too me it didnt seem like a big deal so i just went for it. ?It says that the results are $82% accurate... so i guess that is better than 50/50. ?I am just?inpatient?so I will go for anything... we will see if it works. ?i was just wondering if anyone else had used it before...
  • $29???  OMG, I would return it and wait the week.
  • Don't open it - return it. It's a simple ph test strip. Supposedly low ph means boy and high ph favors a girl but depending on what you eat or drink your urines ph can be either way regardless of what you're having. They can claim 82% accurate all they want, it's not true based on the complaints all over the internet. Not to mention you can go buy (or get for free) some ph strips from a fish store and pee on them for a lot less hassle.

LMAO I see these things advertised in magazines all the time and wonder if anyone actually falls for it and throws their money away on them...lol

Regardless of what the test says - will you believe it until you have your big u/s?!

you could have bought the baby something USEFUL with that money...

  • I seriously didn't even know they sold these things.  We opted not to find out the sex of our baby -- so we wouldn't take the test anyway -- but wow.

  • Post a pic of your belly and do a clicky poll to see what people guess you are having.  Same concept and it's free.  Unless it said it was 100% accurate I would not waste my money.

Take it back... and don't believe everything you read.

  • You can wait longer, and you will. That test isn't going to tell you what you're having. It may be right, but it would be a lucky guess. You could have just as easily sent one of us the $30 and let us take a guess, and it would have the same chance of being correct.
  • You could have just written me a check for $30. I'll predict for you.

    Girl!!

  • Of course you can spend your money on whatever you like... but hurry and pee on it and share the results.  Then get back to us after your big U/S.

I'm going to spend the rest of my day thinking about things that I can market to pregnant woman.  I'm thinking that I need a pee strip that can guess how much weight I'll gain.

lmfao... 82%, huh? There is no DNA in pee - it's guess is as good as mine...

    You're having a boy. That'll be $29 please.

  • Take it back and buy a big pack of diapers.  There is a much greater chance that those will be useful than that test you are taking.

  • Ladies, the OP already has her mind made up that this is her miracle instand gratification solution to gender prediction. Let her pee on her $29 and just feel sorry that her poor DC has such a gullible mother. Meanwhile, the rest of us will enjoy a nice snicker at her expense.
  • I might just LOL when her ultrasound comes back inconclusive and she trusts the $29 dollar test... haha
