Ok, so I keep bothering you guys because I really respect your opinions. One idea for a middle name that came up is DH's GGM's name Lettie. At first I was not at all interested, but it's growing on me.
Maxine Lettie? Too Ancient? We have a three syllable last name that rhymes with Burlington so think of that.
Other options I was thinking of along those lines were Maxine Lila or Maxine Lily. What does everyone think?
Re: One more time, mn for Maxine
Not a big fan of Lettie. I think with your last name, a shorter mn would be nice. Maybe Grace, Paige, Rose, Claire, or Beth.
I always think Lettie is short for Letitia, in which case:
Maxine Letitia Burlington* (I recognize not your name, using it for flow)
is pretty.
Maxine Lettie Burlington is pretty, but feels like it's missing something.
I don't think it's ancient at all. I think it needs a revival, actually.
Of your two other options, I prefer Maxine Lily.
I wouldn't worry about her name being too long, for official purposes. Especially since most forms that I've run across lately ask for only the middle initial.
Ultimately, go with what you like. :-)
I love Letitia and Lily - both work. Use whatever name you love.
I like Lily.
Not a fan of Lettie because it seems like a nickname. It also seems a bit country, which doesn't "match" Maxine at all.
Between Lily and Lila, I much prefer Lily, which is just a beautiful name. But I'm not sure Maxine Lily flows. I feel like the middle name needs to be longer because Maxine is very short, and can sound a bit harsh with a short middle name. Like Maxine Elizabeth Burlington. Although, based on some of your posts, I'm guessing Elizabeth seems boring to you!
I was thinking Liliana or something, but that sounds Italian or Spanish, which sort of clashes with the very French Maxine.
Any other family names -- preferably 4 syllables?
