Baby Names board is slow...suggestions?

We are considering the name Madalyn or Madelyn and before I get flamed for the spelling.  I want the name pronounced lyn at the end not line so that is the reason for the spelling... like Caroline or Carolyn....not to be trendy. 

Anyway, I love the name but not the nickname Maddy or Maddie.  Does anyone have any suggestions for a cute nickname?  Thanks in advance.

    Aww.... *tear*... if I was going to have a girl, that was my name... so I'm VERY supportive! I was going to spell it Maddelynn and call her Lynn, Lynnie or something like that so that it was different.

    Unfortunately you won't be able to control what nicknames people give your kid.

    Case in point:  I hate my daughter's nickname Vanna (reminds me of Vanna White), but there's nothing I can do about it so I roll with it.

    Madelyn (and all variations of it) is just one of those names without a lot of options.  Lyn, maybe?

    I love the spelling! Maybe something completely from the name given by a family member, my family calls me skippy/skip and my name is Schuyler (sky-ler) my cousin (10 at the time gave me the nickname when I was a baby)

    Thanks for all of the great responses. I am trying to tie in a lot of family meanings etc and if I do go this route it reflects that all of the grandmothers on both sides names began with M.  My Mom's name is Linda and my middle name is Lynne. 

    I was even thinking Madalynne or Madelynne but I thought that people would think I was crazy.  The nickname Dela is cute and different. Thanks for that and all of the other suggestions so far Big Smile
