Quad Screen

Has anybody ever gotten a positive result for the quad screen?  My test was done at 14 weeks.  I think that was too early from what I am reading it should be done between 16-18 weeks.  My doc called and said it came out positive for down syndrome.  I think it was a very low percentage so I am not too worried.  I have an ultrasound on Monday to check everything out. I have also heard there are many false positives with this test.

I was asked if I wanted mine at my last appointment... which would have been at around 17 weeks. My OB told me of all the risks of a false negative, and she also said that since I am young and healthy, there should not be a problem and that she doesn't recommend it. So, I opted out of all tests.. as I have been doing all along. But, that decision is up to you.

ditto to the above my doc thinks that since i am having a normal healthy pregnancy that if i did not want to then he thought it should be ok

Was this your first screen or second screen.  I think my first screen was done around 12 to 14 weeks and the second was done at 17 weeks.  My second screen had a false negative but we had the amnio to confirm there were no problems.  If they are saying the baby might have downs I would want to know for sure to know what to expect when the baby is born.  The ultrasound should help though.
