Baby Shower

Ok so my sister decided she is not having a shower and made a big deal to me about not having one. Well my other sister on the invitations (evite) writes "And Don't forget to let people know NIKKI IS PREGNANT TOO (and due in Aug) and will be at the shower!!!"(Nikki is my sister) I am kind hurt because it specifically is a shower for me and sorry but Nikki made it crystal clear she was not having a shower. Am I over reacting?

I think that's really annoying, why did she do that?  It sounds like she wants people to bring her presents too. 

But, it's your shower and should be all about you!!  I'd ask if she could remove that part and ask if she's rethinking not wanting shower?  If she wants her own then offer to throw her one, but tell her that you'd rather not make it seem like it's a shared shower!!!!

My sister replyed to the evite with this I am hurt, its my first and they didn't share their showers on their firsts so it is funny that she would post this but I am hurt too.

Oh and I think my other sister was on something when she posted her reply. Niether sister drinks but would be more fun if they did of course not while PG.

If your sister replied with this and is not the host ask the host (or who ever sent out the evite) to delete it. Especially if a friend is hosting it seems inappropriate for your sister to hijack the shower for your other sister. IMO

No your not over reacting. Your shower means it's your shower. If she wants one she can have her own. I'd be pissed, it's supposed to be about you and your baby. Grrr

Essentially what is done is done I just wish my sister would have talked to my Mom, my Aunt(whos hosting) or me first rather then highjacking the shower from me. Its my first not like its my other sisters first. Argh so irratated. I just can't bring my self to say anything to my mom b/c she mentioned something before about this and I was trying to down play it.

The bigger issue here is that what your sister replied with is rude.  She shouldn't be asking or implying to guests to bring an additional gift for another guest at the shower who is also pregnant.  If she's going to be at the shower, they will learn of her pregancy and go out to buy her gifts if that is their choice.

If your hosts used the website evite, she can hide the replies and/or comments so that no one else can see them.
