Idiotic ? about Baby Jogger Citi Mini stroller

I checked this model out today at BRU and the guy showed it to me as a jogging stroller (I want one for long, fast walks with DS).  Now, reading the online reviews, it is described as a lightweight stroller.

So, is it a jogging stroller or not?!  The name "Baby Jogger" seems obvious enough but now I'm questioning the reviews.

No, its not a jogging stroller. The wheels are made out of plastic. Its made by the brand called Baby Jogger. This is their new stroller to compete with the Mclearens of the world. Its a mall walker. If you look at the citi classic or their other models, you will noticed their wheels are rubber. This is what gives them a smooth ride and are better for fast walks/jogs. I would either get the classic or just another jogger like the BOB if you want one to walk/jog with. We looked at this one very closely and the wheels suck. Plus its got a swing back (think of a hammock) which is disaster for a growing childs spine.

I wanted to save the $ and get a double BOB possibly when we add to our growing family.  I didn't want to invest that kind of money in a single BOB when I could buy something that would be just right for the moment.

Thank you for your insight on this stroller.  It's listed as "jogging" on joggingstroller.com, BRU and others which is why it was so confusing!  I just wanted something comfy for DS in our hot Florida weather for when we go on our daily jaunts in the park. The Chicco system isn't cutting it!

If you don't want to spend alot, and you aren't doing serious running, I would check out consignment shops, craigslist and the classifieds and see what you can find used.  You might be able to find a BOB for half the price.

I know...its really confusing. Just look for rubber wheels and suspension. Good luck!! We opted for the bugaboo at the end. I didnt want to spend the $$ either but you get what you pay for and we ended up LOVING it. You can find it for half the price on craigslist. Its the only "all in one stroller" out there that i could find.
