If you got the wrong baby...

If the hospital called you today and told you that they had mistakenly given you the wrong baby what would you do?  DH and I discussed this and decided that we would totally keep the one we've got! lol   We would want to be involved in the life of our biological child, but we're sure his parents would want to keep him too!  Of course Baby J is my twin so no mix-up there, but it is funny to imagine.

Oh my! I would be pissed they they put the wrong bracelets on us! I got so excited when they would hand her back to me and our bracelets would play lullabies!!!

BUT I would definitely keep the one I have. I am too attached to her and she to me. I would want to meet my biological child as well though, and I am sure the other parents would want to meet Brooke... but then again, they also might want to take her!

So funny, DH and I discussed this too!  And Miss G is my twin, so no way this could happen, but...DH said "We'll take both!"  No way would he give up his "Boomper."  The poor other parents would just have to fight it out with us I guess. LOL.  I think we'd have to find a way to keep the ones we have and just really be in each other's lives...DH is way too attached to her now.  I would feel like a piece of my heart was missing if anyone took her away!

But assuming the other parents wouldn't be down with that, I would definitely keep the one I have. I would love to meet my bio-child and be involved in their life, just as I would want Addie to meet and know her bio-parents. But sorry, she's mine, I got her first, and I claim dibs. I'm too attached to ever let someone else take her.

Thinking these things makes me sooo glad I had a birth center birth. DD was the only baby, and they never took her out of the room! I would be so worried about this if I had a hospital birth.

i wouldn't want to give shepherd up!  no way no how.

there's no way though.  he looks too much like me to be the wrong one, and they double & triple checked our bracelets a zillion times before we left

I told DH if the doctor called and they said they transferred someone else's embryo - I would leave the country with D and make them find me.  I won't give up my kid no matter what.  I love her like crazy, biology or not.
