Confession: I have never shot a gun. And I live in a big redneck area.
TTC #2, Operative hysteroscopy March 2011; IVF #1 long lupron protocol April 2011-cancelled due to poor response; IVF #2 flare protocol May 2011=hospitalization due to abdominal hemorrhage during ER and no fert due to MFI issues. Moving onto international adoption from Moldova January 2013!
I haven't shot a gun since I was 10, and it was only once. So this would be a first in 20 years.
My mom got her concealed weapon license and carries a gun in her purse. When I asked her about what the threat was inspired her to do this in such sleepy small town that is fast becoming a suburb of Charlotte. She replied: Mexican gangs.
I've only shot a shotgun. Or was it a rifle? Is there a difference?
it was one of those long things. I shot a tree in the mountains.
Now, I do not like guns
The first time was a shotgun.
I hate guns, really. I'm actually really freaked out that my mom carries them and that my brother who is going to Iraq has so many, 2. But I am also intrigued.
As I am sitting here as the plans are being made they are complaining that they can't find ammo for the guns. Which makes me feel better. Apparently it sells out fast at the Walmart.

so... there's lots of Mexican gangs roaming that small sleepy town? Bwahahaha! She's welcome to join me on my daily commute if she wants to see those sorts of gangs. I drive straight through the middle of the ghetto (only because the freeway never moves around here)

DH has his concealed carry permit and is ALWAYS packing heat.
He even had his gun on him at our premarital counseling session with the minister at the church.
I like that he always has it though. It makes me feel safe. There are a lot of nutjobs running around this world.
Are you allowed to bring them into churches? I thought that even with a license that wasn't allowed.
It makes my mom feel safer, and I know that's important. But in the case of nutjobs, I just feel that a gun isn't going to protect me (or her) again desperate craziness. And if something does happen, the potential for harm is that much greater. Which is obviously why I have no interest in carrying one.

Yes, it's very scary here.

I don't think so, but he had it. Hence the
He normally leaves it in the truck when he's supposed to -- he says he just forgot that time. Probably true b/c it's like a part of him, but still.
ah.
My mom brought it in her purse into a restaurant that served alcohol...also a no-no. She basically hugged the purse the whole time, it was silly.
