Ok, so Sofia is going cold turkey with undies at school on Tuesday! She uses the potty all day at school, and her teachers think she is ready. I'm a little hesitant because she is not consistent with peeing at home yet, and I don't want to force her into something she's not ready for. We'll see how it goes!

Anyway, how many pairs of undies / extra sets of clothes did you send in? I'm having visions of Sofia peeing through outfit after outfit! I am running to Target now and want to pick up a few packs of underwear and maybe a few pairs of cheap-o pants to keep there.

I think we're going to practice with underwear while we're home today through Monday. Do you think I should I just drop the pull-ups altogether and see what happens? I'm asking because we're down to, like, 5 and I don't know if I should pick up another package! Sofia will not need them overnight- she always wakes up dry and will use the potty.

also in the same boat. We will be trying next week for a diaper free (except sleep) for Miles at school!

Hey Pinny!  We'll have to share our experiences!  Her teachers seem to think that Sofia will have one or two accidents and then get the hang of it

When her teachers told me she was ready we dropped the pull-ups all together. I brought in 3 pairs of extra undies and pants. She was fully PT at school first and then at home soon after. They are much better of having DD on a schedule.

 Kids do have accidents in the class every once in a while and if DD is having a bad day (usually when she has a cold or is under the weather) they may borrow a pull-up from another kids. I did recently bring in a few pull-ups to put in her cubby so she didn't have to take from the others.

hey tiffany-bride!!  it is nice to see you. i hope your school year is going well. of course.... your sig is as cute as ever.

j will the potty at dc but always tells me right after she has peed at home. i can't figure out what they do to make her go.... unless it is the other kids and she wants to feel big like them. i can't get her to use the potty reguraly at home either. she did bring me a pair of undies and told me she wants to wear them, but we are still in pull-ups right now.

How are you?  The school year is going well, but I am ready for summer!  SO ready! 

It's funny you say that- Sofia does much better at school as well.  I'm guessing they are more consistent with the times that they take her and she sees the other kids going.  At home, she is hit or miss with peeing, but will always poop on the potty.  If she is running around diaperless, she will run to her small potty and pee.  If she is in a pull-up, she will tell me right after she goes.  We'll see what happens!

Luckily, I had a very easy time with DD (so I know DS will be a nightmare ), but her teacher was wonderful and she was beyond ready. I was running out of diapers and after the last one, we went straight to big girl panties (she couldn't wait to wear them - tinkerbell, her fav.). She has had three accidents since then and two were at night. I did put pull ups on her at night for the first few weeks, but she treated them like underwear so I have stopped. Anyway, my advice is to go ahead and put her in panties now since she's asking for them anyway. Then bring 2-3 clothing changes to daycare on Tuesday. I hope you'll be surprised how well she does.
