Do you let you LO sleep with a blanket? Does he/she pull it over their face and do you let them? My daycare lets her sleep with a blanket over her face, but makes sure it doesn't get tight. I don't like it, but everyone I've talked to says you can breath threw the blankets and they don't think its a big deal. Just wondered what everyone else's input is. She really likes having it on her face and she goes down for a nap much easier with it. TIA!
Re: Sleeping with blankets
I think about it this way...how do you feel when a blanket is over your face? Meaning, yes, she may like it, but how is your breathing when it is on your face? I know that I start to get warm and sometimes feel like I need some air!
I would not be comfortable with that. In fact, we did try a blanket w/ DS b/c when we weaned from the swaddle, I did not have any sleep sacks yet. DS would end up w/ the blanket on his face and I was not comfortable with that...even if he can breathe through it!
My DS was the same way... he slept better w/ the blanket. Since I wasn't comfortable w/ it, we gave him a lovey and it had the same effect! Maybe you can try that instead?
DS sleeps with a knit afghan. he has never gotten it over his face--i tuck it under his armpits. every time i go in to get him out of bed, he's laying on top of it.
if it was over his face, i'd take it out of the bed.
