Twins Game Noise?

I was thinking about taking Maya to a game, but what about the noise levels?  Harmful for LO's?  Just annoying?

 Thanks,

Melissa

Re: Twins Game Noise?

  • i posted about this below too, but we took our 6 month old on Monday to the opener and she did NOT like it at all. She is the most easy going baby and s he got so scared and started crying nonstop once the crowd started yelling. And it was the opener, so it was sold out and loud. We ended up taking turns walking around the concourse with her. But then t here were some other babies there that seemed to be doing really well with it. So it just depends. I thought about looking into baby earplugs, but I didn't think of it till the day of.

  • We just took our 3 week old to the game and she did great!  She slept about 1/2 of the game and was awake and alert for the end of the game.  We tried covering her ears during the louder parts of the game, but she didn't like that.  She didn't seem bothered by the noise.

If I could find little earplugs for her, I would have used them.

  • We've taken our daughter twice now, once when she was 2 weeks old and just Wednesday night. The game in September was pretty loud because it was when we still had a shot at winning the division with only a few games left in the season. I wasn't worried about the noise though since they say newborns like loud white noise. Wednesday she didn't seem bothered by the noise at all, but it certainly wasn't crazy loud like in September.

I'd say the biggest challenge was keeping her somewhat occupied. She loved watching all that was going on around her and waved at everyone in our section like 15 times. We did bring plenty of her favorite toys in the diaper bag just in case. Luckily she's still nursing pretty well so when she started to get fussy I just nursed her and she went to sleep. If you think Metrodome seats are uncomfortable, try them with a baby sleeping across your lap! BTW: if your LO is still nursing and you aren't comfortable NIP in the stands, you can go to the Metropolitan Sports Commission office and they opened up an office for us to use in September. You can also go to the first aid area and use a first aid curtain.

  • I took my older DS when he was 4 days old and he did fabulously.

My younger DS will be going to his first Twins game Sunday and he'll be 8 weeks old and he's a lot less calm and mellow than my first kid, so I have a feeling we won't make it through the whole game...
