I'm delivering at Northside in a month, and have started thinking about packing a bag. I know they give you a ton of stuff for the baby, but what about supplies for me? Breast pads, extra pads, etc.? I will be bringing my Medela pump... do they have extra supplies for this too? Thanks!

Re: What do I need to bring when I deliver at Northside?
pillow ... maternity clothes to wear home ... any cosmetics, etc. ... maybe some snacks.camera. baby's going-home outfit (I would take a couple of options in preemie size--even newborn size was waaaaaay too big for Kate.)
Anything you want in L&D with you (music, photo to focus on, etc.). I didn't take anything for that, but a lot of women take stuff to help them with labor.

Less is more in my opinion since you'll be bringing home a lot of stuff.
- flip flops or slippers
- nursing tank
- lip balm
- robe to accompany baby when she goes for checkups in nursery
- mobile and charger
- camera, charger
- laptop
- tylenol, snacks for DH
- notepad and pen
I didn't need the breast pads b/c my milk didn't come in until day 3. Also, I didn't bother with the boppy, pump, or extra pillows.Flip flops
Chapstick
Hair rubber bands
Pjs (I wore the hospital ones only the first day and then wore my own afterward)
Cosmetics, your own toiletries (like shampoo)
I brought a container of Tucks and Prep H wet wipes and used those instead of toilet paper
Cash for cafeteria and parking if you choose to use them
Camera and charger
Laptop and charger if you want
An empty suitcase to leave in the car for when you get ready to be discharged - use it to pack all the pads and diapers they give you while you're there
A robe
Some snacks
Your own pen (you'll have to fill out some forms)
Socks in case your feet get cold
Breast pump and parts (they may have extra supplies but you'd have to buy them from the gift shop)
Lansinoh
At home you'll want to have:
Pads
Motrin
Colace (stool softener)
Some giant granny panties you dont' mind throwing away later
Lansinoh
Lots of paper towels, toilet paper, dishwashing detergent, etc - get lots of these staples
Make some meals ahead of time and freeze. Also have some stuff on hand that you can eat quickly like granola bars, snacks, etc and lots of bottled water
Don't worry about bringing your breast pump. If you are having issues and need to pump they will give you a breats pump to use while you are in the hospital (this happened to me).
This is what I brought:
Change of clothes (hoodie, nursing tank, and yoga pants)
flip flops
toiletries and make up
hair dryer
2 pillows from home (one for me and one for DH)
going home outfit for baby
camera
chap stick
snacks for DH
cash
Also, you can bring your lap top if you have wireless - Northside has a wireless connection.
I have my packing list in a word document if you'd like me to email it to you. For some reason, when I copy and paste it here, it won't work!
The main thing I wish I had was a bigger bag to stuff all of the baby supplies in- make sure to take diapers, wipes, and those pacis!
Let me know if you're interested in my packing list document!

I didn't even open my suitcase til it was time to go home. Lived in the hospital gowns and only used my contact stuff and toiletries. I know it is different for everyone.
We did eat some of the snack foods I packed and be sure to save some room or bring an empty bag to take home all the diapers, formula, ice packs, pads, etc. We came home with so much stuff it filled our den. The ice packs and pads were lifesavers! Take as many of the nasal aspirators you can b/c they are the only ones that work.
