I could kick myself!

We had a playdate this morning, so Preston was extremely tired when I put him down for his nap. He almost fell asleep in the car during our 20 minute ride home. Well, I put him down, and went up to check on him 1/2 hour later. He had pooped. I didn't want to leave him sleeping in it, so I proceeded to change him (I have been able to do this while he still slept, but dh wanted to watch and he jinxed me, because Preston woke up). I changed him, told him it was still nap time and left the room. He has now been up there for an hour, talking and playing to himself. UGH! I should have just let him be.

  • No you shouldn't have.  It's better to have a short nap than to get a rockin diaper rash!

Agreed.  Can you put him down a little early tonight to make up for the short nap?

  • Better to change it.  He probably would've woken up earlier than normal anyways if you hadn't.

Sam was up there playing for 30 min or so, so I went up there to tell him to go to sleep and he was naked.  Just hanging out in all his glory, playing with his cars.

  • I think I am the minority on this one, but the boys wake up with poopy diapers almost every single morning and have since they were infants. I NEVER wake them to change a poopy diaper..although I also wouldn't know they pooped until the morning bc they STTN. But I def wouldn't if they were asleep at nap time bc I know they would not go back to sleep!

    LMAO! He is hilarious!

I'm just glad it's not me that has to deal with him tonight. Poor Irv!

  • You did the right thing.  I did that ONE time with DD #1 and she had blisters for days until I finally found a cure.  NEVER again!
