Ok, for some reason this song offends me-especially when they play it on a family show like idol.  I also heard it in a store recently.  And I was like really?  It is raunchy.

I freaking LOVE that song. I have a Bose stereo system in my car and it was invented just for that song, IMO. LOL

It bugs me, too. Sometimes I wonder if people even listen to the lyrics of songs they play. My friend, who is a devout Mormon, has it as her song on Myspace. I'm guessing she either doesn't understand what they mean when they say, "You spin me right round, baby, right round when you go down, when you go downtown" or she hasn't really listened to the words. I have a bad habit of paying more attention to the lyrics than the beat.

I agree 100%.  I even asked DH if the words meant what I thought they meant and how they could say that on a family show?!  DH decided that with the hand motions they were using that it most definitely did mean what I thought it meant!  Annoying...

WTH?  Those aren't the original words.

I wonder if Idol knows that song is about blow jobs. I am no prude but I thought it was totally inappropriate for the show. I know most people don't listen to the words really so they probably have no clue.

I like the beat but have to agree about ruining a good 80s song and I too listen to songs for the lyrics and this disgusts me.
