Well I will be the first to answer this, being that it is my name. I love my name, since it means Beloved, but I would have liked the fancy spelling Aimee since it is so plain looking.
Or even to have been named Amelia with Amy as the nm.
My middle name is Felice and I always liked it as a combination, but it's impossible to get anyone to call you the whole combo name.

It's cute. I think the Aimee spelling is really pretty and more grown up for when she is an adult, although it will be common misspelled in all likelihood. ?I think Amy is really nice for a nn for Amelia or a longer traditional name.??

Ditto - go with the French spelling.

I think Amy screams 1970's -- just like Jennifer, Jessica, Melissa, etc. So I don't like it for that reason.
But, it is a pretty and simple name, so I like that about it.
I do not care at all for the Aimee spelling. I understand that it's the French spelling, but it always looks like the child's parents were just trying too hard to jazz up an otherwise simple name.
I think using Amy as a nickname for Amelia or Amelie is a neat idea.
