Sterlilizing Pacifiers..

Hey..I sterilized mine the other day, but I noticed that there is water in the nipple.  Is this a problem?  I followed the directions and boiled them for 5 minutes...maybe I'm being paranoid..  do I need to buy replacements before a baby even touches them?

  • If there's moisture inside, it's just a matter of time before mold starts growing.  I'd pitch it if you can't get the inside to dry.

  • No, that happens when you wash them, no big deal.  I usually just squeeze the water out.

Maybe a dense question..but how do I do that?  :o)

  • They are not completely sealed up around the nipple, so hold it nipple side up and squeeze the nipple.  The water will come out the other side.  This will happen everytime you wash them.  I was surprised at first, but I'm used to it now.  I also place them down nipple side up to dry out and let the water drain.
  • um, if the water inside the pacifier is sterile, you shouldn't get mold growth.  it's sterile.

Good to know!  Thanks so much!
