I'm not sure what the guidelines are, but I gave DD a pillow around 1 y/o and am thinking about getting one for DS now, he'll be 1 y/o next week.

I asked the pedi about this @ Ben's 1 year appt and she said that she feels they shouldn't have them until they move to a big kid bed (at 2.5ish). She said before that it's just not necessary.
We're going to ask his pedi, but we might get a small one for the crib. When we conap on weekends he always puts his head on my pillow & he usually balls up his blanket and puts it under his head so I think it would be ok.
Re: What age can a child use a pillow?
My DD has had a small unncovered pillow for about 2 months now.
When we co-sleep she's always all up on mine. So now that we're transitioning her to her crib, we put one in there for her.
