Help with my stash

Hi Everyone,

I am expecting my first in June and plan to CD from the beginning.  I've lurked here for several months and really appreciated all the insight and advice I've picked up.  Could you please help me a bit with my stash?  A friend gave us some of her Mother-Ease One Size and we really like them, but of course haven't tried them on an actual baby.  I picked up some used at a good price, so I have:

18 Mother-Ease OS

6 Mother-Ease Sandy's Small

  Mother-Ease Air Flow Covers: 3 Small,  4 M-L

This is what I'm concerned about:  If DD is on the smaller side, the OS may just overwhelm her for the first few weeks/months and I don't have enough of the Sandy's to get by.  I don't really want to buy a lot more until I have a better sense of her size and how much we like the diapers.  LIke most of you, I'm trying to be EF and budget-concious.  What would you do?  Add some pre-folds and covers?  Which?  Many thanks!

Kate

  • Even if your baby is average sized, you'll want some xs/nb diapers.  If you'd like not to spend a lot.  I would buy a couple dozen preemie prefolds and a couple dozen small-nb prefolds.

I would say, for cost cutting, you could get by with 3-4 covers.  With nb baby poop, it could cut it close, but you can always wash a cover up.  I would go with XS Thirsties.  Thirsties covers are great.  If you watch their outlet you can save a little too.  https://www.thirstiesoutlet.com/

I have green mountain diapers prefolds.  Little lions are cheaper and I'm told just as good.
