s/o of Bubb's pronounce this name post...

My sister is a lawyer for Child & Family Services with child removal cases (tough job!).  This is the best name she has run across. Pronounce this name:

Ph' Razor

My sis said the judge did double take and had a coughing fit.  She wanted to ask if she really needed to produce any more evidence for removing the child.  Who does that to a kid????

  • I can join in this one.

When I taught there was a family of four girls... Kia, Lexus, Mercedes, and Porsche.  Stinks to be Kia huh?

But that doesn't top my very favorite student name EVER.  Bocat.  I pronounced it phonetically... Bo-cat (like the animal).  But I was wrong.  It's Boo-ka-t, like Booker T. Washington just smooshed together.  All I could think all year was, "Are you freaking kidding me?  Who the hell thought that was a good name."

  • :-) ?I taught at a not-so-great school where I encountered some pretty interesting name, so it was almost "fun" trying to guess how the heck they were supposed to be pronounced.?
  • I used to work with a little boy in early intervention who had the first name:

    Alcapone

Yep.  One word.  Two names.  Al Capone.  They called him "Little Al" for short.  Oh my.
