Just wondering if a bassinet is a good investment or not since they can't be used for long. But I'm thinking they might come in handy in the living room or next to our bed at night. I've also seen a Graco playard that has twin bassinets, which would be good to take to grandma's, but then it states that only one baby at a time can be in the playard (bottom) part of it when they are older. Are there any playards that both babies can go in when older?
What have you ladies used?

Re: Do you use a bassinet and/or playard?
Our nursery shares a doorjam with our bedroom so the boys have been in cribs since day 1. They shared a crib at the beginning but then once they started moving around, they split up.
We had a PNP in the living room for naps for them for a few months. We just had a regular one and used the bassinet part for both of them since they were under the recommended weight.
Bassinets, in my opinion, are a waste of money unless you are planning on having them in your room. If you are doing that and have room for a PNP, I would opt for that b/c I think you'll use that more in the long run, especially when you travel.
I will have ours sleep in the bassinet in the PNP when they first come home, but then will move them to separate cribs.
I think what we're going to do is register for the one with twin bassinets and then one that is regular so we have 2 for traveling when they're older (since we already have little driving trips in mind for their first fall and summer). ?Or I'll just register for 2 regular ones since they can share the bassinet in 1 for as long as I'd want them in there.?
You can use the bassinett and the bottom part with two kids. We totally found that one of the normal sized ones is all you need for twins. I think some of these guidelines are CYA for the companies. I mean, what could happen with both kids in the bottom part of the bassinett?
Also, think carefully before you get 2 PNP. It seems like a great idea when you are getting stuff for free from showers and stuff, but baby gear is BIG and you will have to figure out what to do with it when you are done. We are in a TH, so maybe it's more of an issue for us, but still. We only used our PNP until they were 6m and haven't really used it since.
Baby #3 due September 12, 2014!
