Hangover

This past weekend was my friends bachlorette party. We had a great time, but let me tell ya what. It was hard being sober, sitting back and watching them all do the group shots!

Anyway I write because despite getting a new bottle of water and drinking it at each bar (so 5 bottles of water between 6:00-Midnight) I felt completely dehydrated and hung over yesterday. I woke up with a splitting head ache, felt sick, and despite chugging water all day on Sunday my lips remained dry. I seriously felt hung-over! How unfair to not get to drink but to have to suffer all the consequences as if I had!

We had a good time though and I'm happy that I was able to last as long as all the passing out drunk party-goers!

How is your salt intake. My DH has the annoying habit of drinking so much water that he ends up low on salt which causes the same symptoms you just mentioned. On a recent river rafting trip he had a big problem with this and was told by our guide to chug some pickle juice. He was fine within 10 minutes.

I am 25, I was an alcoholic for 6 years. 9 months ago quitting almost killed me (it was worse than heroin withdraw I was told) but the doctors helped me get through it. I COMPLETELY understand how much it can suck to hang out with people who drink, especially when you may want to (thankfully I don't but I remember how it feels to crave).

Your symptoms could be from drinking so much water you flushed a lot of vitamins and minerals from your body, and if you were a serious drinker at any point in your life your body can mimic the hangover just from an intense craving that was unfulfilled. The best cure is to get some veggies or fruit into your system (packed with natural sugar and vit's) and to remember it will get better with time when you watch other people drink and you know you're doing the better thing for your baby.
