I took 100mg clomid + metformin + IUI/trigger with both my son and my twin pg. I had one mature follie when i got pg with DS and 2 mature follies when i got pg with the twins.
you'll find tons of clomid success stories with singletons on the SAIF board. The increased risk for twins is only about 10%.
if you are seeing an OB i highly recommend going to an RE if clomid is being considered... unmonitored clomid can be dangerous.
I agree with this - Kate, of Jon and Kate +8 fame, took clomid when she concieved her sextuplets. You really should be closely monitored when you take it.
I tried clomid, but it didn't work for me. I ended up needing injectible hormones to get my ovaries to pop out an egg.

Why do you ask? Maybe check over on the SAIF board too, you might get more responses
