So I know spotting 'can' be normal in pregnancy, especially in the first trimester, but last night something felt wrong. I work at the hospital next to the maternity hospital that I chose my OB at. I was at work so I went over to their maternity ER. I had a repeat hCG drawn and an u/s.
My beta was great : 3,161 up from 709 on Thursday.
My u/s: empty sac. The doctor says that their definitive hCG level for seeing a yolk sac or fetal pole is 3,400. I measured about 5 weeks. Slightly behind.
So my discharge papers say "Pregnancy in unknown location". Lovely.
I have a follow up u/s booked tomorrow at 4:30pm EST. My beta should be about 6,800 by then so she said if there's no yolk sac then it's either a blighted ovum or a pseudo-sac from an ectopic. Again.
The clock is ticking so loudly today....

Oh Hon. It's always so distressing to hear stuff like that. It's still very early and just a few days can make all the difference in the world. Hang in there. I am praying that you get good news tomorrow.
