DH has non obstructive azoospermia. The urologist on Friday recommended he begin taking Clomid even though his hormone and testosterone levels are normal. The dr. said that in 1 out of 12 cases this has worked in men. Clomid is not FDA approved for men, only women. Has anyone had any experience with men on Clomid? If so, can you please tell me your experience?
Re: Azoospermia/Clomid Question
I don't have an answer for your questions, but am curious to see if anyone else does (I don't know that it would completely apply to us since DH has raised FSH).
Good luck! (it may be worth a try?)
My husband takes clomid for low sperm count, not azoospermia. His urologist (MFI specialist) said men have been taking clomid for years. There is a very low success rate, but at the same time, men don't get the nasty side effects we do. He also said that he could take it for up to 18 months at a time.?
MH hormones were all normal, but some were on the low side of normal. After the first three months, his counts doubled and has stayed the same since then. He takes 50 mg every other day.
?
My DH took clomid also. It didn't work but can work for men. He has normal b/w also.
He was moodier on it.

It's been a long journey. TTC since 9/06. multiple IUI's and IVF's and 4 m/c's. IVF#3 = BFP, twins, induced at 34w6d due to baby b passing away (no explanation). Delivered on 35w1d, Baby A - baby girl, and Baby B - baby boy, our little angel.

no just moodiness, he would get really sad if he drank while on it so I cut off his drinking. He was taking 25mg a day.

Like the pp my DH has azoo and we were told nothing could be done other than the testicular biopsy and possibly IVF with ICSI if there was sperm in his testes. His biopsy turned up no sperm so we are using a donor.
I would love to hear if you get positive results.
Good Luck!
