MoMs - When was the first time you left the babies?

When was the first time you left the babies with a sitter or family member so you and DH could go on a date?

I've left them alone with DH but I have no idea when we'll leave them alone for the first time with somebody else.  Sadly even though most of our family is in town there really isn't anyone that I think could handle twins!

It was for Valentine's Day, so they were around 6 weeks old. We left them with two sitters, both of whom had come over several times (one at a time) to help me with the boys so they were used to them and how we do things. It was wonderful.

It was a couple weeks after my daughter got out of the NICU. We left them with my mom while we went to my company's summer picnic at the zoo. I was OK with it because the zoo is less than 10 minutes from my house. My mom has been the only one who can handle these two alone - she had four kids of her own!

they were 7 weeks. We left them with my mom, grandma, brother and sister in law. They were all over and the two of us went to dinner. We were gone 3 hours. I was fine with it. We only missed one feeding and the 4 of them could handle the three babies. I left them over night when they were 4 months. My mom, sister, and 18 year old niece stayed the night so we could go away for one night for my birthday.

4 weeks old for our 1st wedding anniversary.  I left them with my sister and her friend. 

We went to the melting pot - I almost fell asleep in the fondue!

When the twins were 7 weeks old we had a wedding that we went to.  We were gone for several hours and MIL kept the boys.

We went on our first overnight trip when our twins were 5 weeks old (2 weeks out of the NICU).  We've made a point to go out of town alone or at least get a sitter for a night out at least once a month since they were born.

They were exactly two weeks old and we left them with my parents to go out to dinner with friends.  We were only gone about 3 hours.  It was so nice to get out and good to get that first time out of the way.  I wasn't nervous at all because I knew my parents could handle the two of them and that my mom would call me if she needed me to come home.

We have family around, so it was about 3 months or so.  I haven't hired a sitter yet, and they're 3 1/2.

As for overnight, I've left them at my folks (2 blocks away), but just for one night.  I left them with DH for 4 days last week, and that was the longest I'd been away from them.

we've left the boys with their grandparents on several occasions. ?Their first overnight was about a month after they came home. ?They've spent the night with my parents twice and the ILs once. ?It was hard the first time, and i called just about every 2 hours, but a full night's sleep was well worth it!

6 weeks old. Had been home from NICU for 2 weeks. My Dad and Step mom watched them for a few hours while we went to a funeral.

OK, I'm feeling better after reading this thread; some people seemed a bit shocked that I was willing to leave them with sitters that early! And they thought it would be really hard for me to leave them, that I would miss them the whole time ... honestly, it was REALLY good for me and I didn't miss them at all! I knew I would have plenty more time with them the rest of the week/the next 18 years.
