Ok final post for the day...

I know I am probably being stupid but humor me.

2 weeks ago we started rice cereal with DS 2 who is six months.  He is doing horrible!!  I put it in his mouth and he won't swallow!  he Holds his mouth open and makes this eh eh eh noise and then  when it does start to go down he gags!  I have tried making it more watery, thicker, adding applesauce, adding bananas just doing applesause just doing banana and still the same thing!  

Anyone else have a child who refuses to eat solid food?  Any thoughts on how to help him out?

I'd just wait a couple weeks and then try again. It could be that he's not ready. If the problem persists, then talk to your pedi. Some kids have texture issues.

rice cereal taste like crap.  plus he's very young.  I wouldn't worry about it.  try some other food when he's a bit older.  ds always hated purees and went straight to table food (self feeding) at about 8 mos.

My girls never had rice cereal- too constipating, little nutritional value. I started w/ oatmeal. Try warming it up a bit. DD#2 won't eat it once it cools.
