I gained another 5 lbs in one week! That's 11 lbs in 2 weeks and a total of 27 lbs! My OB was not concerned at all - she said it's good to gain weight early, my blood pressure was great and I wasn't retaining any fluid, so I was in good shape. My belly has really popped in the last 2 weeks though and I'm measuring at around 20 weeks. I was also a little underweight and working out like crazy before I got pregnant, so I guess the sudden lack of activity is a contributor as well.
But still - 27 lbs at 13+ weeks! Wow! I said to the OB, "I tried to watch what I ate a little closely this past week and I stil gained 5 lbs!" Then DH had to jump in with "What about the ice cream I brought you every night this week?" Um, it was only TWO nights in the week, thank you very much.
Oh - but I should add that the babies looked great! Wiggling all around - and one was opening and closing his/her little fist.
Re: And the weight gain continues
YH has a big mouth, lol. It sounds like you're doing great! I don't know as much about weight gain guidelines with triplets; I only remember the twin ones, but it sounds like you and your babies are very healthy. Keep up the good work!

that is great!!! You want to gain a lot early on!! and damn it- ICE CREAM IS GOOD FOR THE BABIES! Dr. Luke says so! (and is the reason why i love her!) hahahaha.
It sounds like you & the babies are doing great! Remember you have 3 of them! And Dr. Luke says that early weight gain is very important in multiples pregnancies.
And I totally agree, ice cream is for the babies!!!! At least that's what I tell myself!
Woohoo! Way to go on the weight gain!
I gained a lot early on too. It really is for the best. They say that the weight that you gain before 24 weeks directly impacts the size of your babies. Also, who knows if you will be able to gain much once the babies start taking over all the space in you belly.
