Weirdass dream + Question

So I had this crazy "giving birth" dream last night. Went to the hospital, delivered Baby A. All went great, he was health, all was good. So, they discharged me, telling me to come back when I went into labor again. Didn't let me hold, see, name, anything Baby A, just told me to come back and I could do all that stuff after I had Baby B. So, I went about my business. Went to a party. Ran some errands. Tried to finish getting things ready for the babies. And went back 2 days later when I finally went into labor with Baby B. So weird! And I woke up at least twice during the dream, and slipped back into the same dream when I fell back to sleep, which made it even weirder.
Anyway, so it got me thinking. Obviously 2 days is unrealistic (right?), but how much time did you have between delivering Baby A and Baby B (and Baby C, etc.)? I've heard it can be anywhere from minutes to hours. Do contractions stop/slow in between time? Call me naive, but hadn't really put a lot of thought into how this will all go, until now.

Re: Weirdass dream + Question

  • thats funny! haha. I had so many weird dreams about delivering, some were absolutly crazy/scary. When I delivered vaginally i had one baby they took him over to everything to clean him up, look at him ect. After baby A they looked at my belly with a US to see what baby B was doing, He was turning sideways a little so he pushed to straighten him. Then They told me to start pushing and i did! lol. They used a vaccume on Baby B and he was born 9 min later. To me it really didnt feel that long at all. It all went by so fast. Honestly once i had gotten the epidural and 5 cm it was a lot harder to notice the contactions. I stared pusing in a L&D room and once the head of baby A started showing they rolled me to OR. I just pushed when they said push, unless i felt a contraction when they were doing something, i wouldbe like Im having one, then they would tell me to push.
  • there is such thing as delayed interval delivery, but i don't think you go to parties in between. :P it's more in emergency situations, i think.
