Pet peeve/vent for the day:
I used to wonder why my friends got so annoyed with people touching their belly and it took a random lady in the Kroger line to make me understand. I'm all for small talk in a long shopping line. She's telling me about her grandson so I tell her I'm expecting my first, blah blah blah. Apparently that gives her the go ahead to not only touch my belly, but POKE at it. Seriously? It was just uncomfortable and a little weird. Not to mention that I don't have a belly yet and the bloating has gone down, so she just poked at my "pooch".
End vent.
Re: QUIT touching my belly.
I hope it wasn't my Mom! She lives in Plymouth and is totally excited about my pregnancy, but alas I live in CO.
Nobody has touched my belly yet, but I am not sure if I can stay polite in that situation. Kudos to you for not yelling at her...even if it was my Mom
That just made me laugh my arse off! I should have done that, but I don't have the balls. I just stood there smiling like it was perfectly acceptable....
LOL! What are the chances of that?!!
The poking is the worst!
I've just decided... anyone who pokes my belly will walk away with a broken finger! Rubbing my belly will lead you me rubbing thier's!
Yeah, that's a pisser... I had a coworker rub my stomach yesterday. Not one of the coworkers I've been close to for years, just some girl who I've known for two months. It was right after lunch and I was feeling my usual gross, bloated self right after eating. I said "you are just rubbing my fat, bloated stomach. there is no baby there." She argued with me a little bit "yes, it is the baby!" I said the baby is the size of a lime and it's NOT where you are rubbing.
I came home and told my husband that was reason #497 not to tell my coworkers (I'd only just told them on Tuesday). All I could think was... crap, this is going to be a long 6 1/2 months...
