Zofran... side effects? does it work?

Hi ladies... so I broke down and called the doc today... the morning sickness is KILLING me. So I called and begged for Zofran, well the generic actually. (Zofran was $500-$1000 for me, we are self pay YIKES!) the generic is going to be about a hundred bucks for 20 pills.

So that being said, does it work? It better! And I've heard about crappy side effects, so what are they? I have to say I'll take anything over this m/s... ANYTHING!

  • It works like a charm for me. It does make me constipated, though.

  • It does work.

The side effect for me....SEVERE constipation.  Like constipation so bad that it hurts to touch your stomach and horrible abdominal cramping.  At one point it got so bad, I just stopped taking it so that the constipation pain would get better....

things that help the constipation. (sometimes for me)

    lots of water...lots and lots

    colace

    benefiber

    prunes

    more water

  • It works great! It can cause headaches and as pp mentioned constipation. I add benefiber to drinks and no issues now.

  • I had to stop taking it because the constipation was so bad
  • Zofran saved me. ?I couldn't eat anything or keep anything down, not even water. ?I got on this and I was able to eat and drink again. ?Like PP said, definitely gives you constipation. ?I would put a TON of benefiber in my water and that seemed to help.
  • I'm very thankful for Zofran! ?I haven't had to take it too often, but it definitely helps. ?It does give me a slight headache. ?I haven't had terrible constipation, but I'm also not taking the full possible dose, because I usually only have major problems in the evening now. ?It was worse when I had to take it all day (I have the 6-8 hour dissolvable version)
