I need a new pedi ! I am sick of driving 30 mins to get talked down to everytime we go. I wold really in a perfect world like a pedi who does not mind selective vaccing but will settle for one who doesnt bring it up every stinking time. Thanks ladies
Re: anyone have an AMAZING pedi in the rochester or shelby twp area?
I go to Northeast Pediatrics. They're on Rochester rd between Hamlin and Avon. I really like them and have heard a number of great things from other people who also take their children there.
I don't take DS to Lifetime, but they also see adults so I go there myself. I've seen Dr. Yoder and he's really nice. The staff is always really friendly too
Pediatric Health Care at 18 1/2 and Mound. They are awesome. They appreciate that you are the parent, that you know them better than anybody else in the world, and that you don't make choices lightly. My daughter has asthma, and had pneumonia one winter, when one of the nastiest flus was running rampant in the world, and it was in the peds unit in the hospital, along with several cases of rotovirus. My daughter would NOT have been okay fighting pneumonia AND one of the other things, and as I have asthma, I am accustomed to what is okay as far as respirations, dosing meds, and etc. I asked them to keep her out of the hospital, and they agreed that it WAS safer, and they would work with me to keep her home. She was sick for SIX weeks. I talked to them four or five times a day, at all hours. I talked to them every night at 2am. When my daughter was just about around the corner, Dr. McManus called me to check up. She said something like, "Wow, you must be exhausted. You have been at this for a long time. Great job." I burst into tears. She waited till I was done, and we finished talking about dd's status.
Ds had a reaction to a delayed vax. He never had another one. When Dr. Deprez asked me why my kids weren't getting any more, even delayed, he was not argumentative, just wanted to know. I told him. He completely understood. He may not have agreed with my choice, I don't know...but he kept it to himself, and nobody in the practice has EVER asked us about vax for either child again.
The staff knows my children, no matter how long it has been since we've been there. The kids like the docs, and look forward to seeing them again. The docs do not talk down to you, and if I come in with info that they haven't heard before, rather than puffing their chests out and asking WHO went to med school for 8 years, they say, "wow, I did NOT know that...can you refer me to the article (or whatever)? I would hate to be givng out inaccurate information."
Their number is 586-254-7593
Our favorite docs are Wegner, Deprez, and McManus.
