Eli has pretty much stopped eating all veggies. He will eat some at daycare, and sometimes he'll eat a few peas at home, but that's about it. I have been semi-successful with hiding them in other things, but I honestly just don't have alot of time to do special cooking for him.
But he eats a ton of fruit, that and meat are his favorite thing. So here's my question: do fruits and veggies have similar nutritional values? Or is he really missing some things by not eating veggies? I know I should know this, but I've just always made sure he has all the food groups everyday, and it never mattered b/c he ate everything. I still offer him veggies with every meal, but they usually end up on the floor.
Re: Table food question
This is our struggle too. I loved when he would just eat the jar veggies. I am tempted to try those again since he can feed himself. It will be messy but at least he is eating his veggies. I buy the small cans of the veggies - like half the size of normal cans- and try a little of those at a time. I feel better than wasting a whole big can. He does ok with cut green beans - especially if he can have "dippy veggies". I put a little BBQ sauce on his plate and he will eat them that way. He actually ate a few lima beans the other day. Fortunately he likes spinach plain with at little butter. When he gets scrambled eggs I will mix in a little frozen spinach and he eats them right up! He loves eggs so this way he gets his veggies too. Fruits are easy - veggies are not!
Good luck!
