Our nursery is in a small perfectly square room....and the wall the crib is going on, has decorative mouldings that frame it out (hard to describe but pretty much it means the crib will be center on the wall...see pic below) Anyways, so if the crib goes there, and the the dresser/changing table goes on the wall on the left and then the rocker/bookcase on the wall on the right, I am worried about the empty wasted space in the corners of the room next to the crib.
Do you have any fun creative ideas to fill the space? I am thinking of doing an aminal theme and maybe hanging moneys or something, but I donno...just wanted to see what suggestions you all might have!
TIA!!!

Re: NEED ADVICE: Corners of the room (if crib is center on wall)
Enjoy the open space for now. Give it a year or two, and those corners will be prime real estate for toys. We bought one, I repeat one, ride-on type toy for our son. Guess what? He as (let me count in my head) 4 ride-on toys and two big pushing walker things -- all from friends/family, and all parked in his room. We do not go out and buy a lot of toys, but we get lots from family.

If you want something decorative, I totally disagree with the hamper or diaper pail advice. To me, that is not decorative.
We put a plant and an aluminum giraffe ($20 at Homegoods) in one corner and will be purchasing one of those ladder type book shelves that lean up agains the wall.
Hi Tia! I'm a professional design and organizer and see these situations all the time. My first question is: does the crib have to go on this wall? I see your heat/air cond. vent and an outlet there. You say the room is square, so the walls are all the same width, right? The decorative paneling would be more attractive if the crib were against a plain wall. One or both of the corners could become great storage with corner shelving. There are the usual triangular shaped shelves. You can add a 2-3 in lip and put clothes or whataever on them. Or, if your hubby is handy, have him cut out circles of plywood or poster board, space wooden strips along the areas of the wall that would touch the circle, being sure to give the shelf enough support. The you can get very pretty round hat box style accessories and use them as "baskets" for your baby's things. With a little bit of craft knowledge, you can paper the boxes to match your decor. Another option is to have the crib come out from one of the corners at a 45 degree angle , or go across the corner. This gives access to both sides of the crib, and creates a different feel altogether than the usual everything up against the wall. I don't have your measurements, so maybe that's not an option.
Hope this stimulates some ideas for you, sincerely, Geri
