I have summers off so I could pull the kids out of daycare for the summer and they would still have a spot in the fall.
I am pulling DD#2 out for the summer, no questions asked. However, I am toying with the idea of leaving DD#1 in daycare 3 half days a week so she could have the social interaction of her friends, keep in a routine and give me time to have 1 on 1 time with DD#2.
I am feeling guilty thinking about leaving DD#1 in daycare and not spending all the time with her, but I would love to give DD#2 the same 1 on 1 time I had with DD#2.
WWYD?
Re: WWYD? Daycare and the summer
i'm on leave now and we're keeping DS in daycare full time during my whole leave.
he LOVES school and learns so much there (he even cried on sat when we told him he didn't have school! lol).
i want to give the twins the time i had with DS as an infant - and feel no guilt sending him. He'll have MUCH more fun at school than at home with me (and the twins) all summer.
If I had the summer off I'd leave both kids in at least 4 days a week and have some me time. I technically had last summer off but I was arranging an international move, trying to find a house, a job, everything (still haven't got a job).
I definitley had no me time despite DS being in daycare.
To me you would seem to be t hrowing away a chance I could kill for (not literally obviously).
Then why even bother having kids if you don't want to spend time with them?
My DD doesn't do well with transitions, so when I am off with this baby I plan on keeping her in daycare. She only goes two days a week, but if she's even off a week from being sick, its hell going back. She just really struggles.
I think it would be good for your DD to still have that interaction, andthen you get a little one on one with your younger DD

There's a long distance between not spending time with them and not having some relief each week.
DS won't go to bed until 10pm at night. 7-9:30 in the morning and 5-10pm at night is plenty of time with him for me.
If you call that any equivalent to my pre-kid life then you had no life before kids.
