Hi ladies-
I'm currently in the midst of my 2nd IVF cycle. We've been working with an RE since September. With the Clomid, gonal-f, lupron, progesterone, BCP, I have managed to gain 15 pounds in the past few months. I am (obviously) really hoping that this IVF works and the weight will be worth it. But I am wondering, if you gained weight from the meds, did you find it hard to lose it after having the baby? I have this fear that I'll be able to lose the pregnancy weight, but not the IF weight. I know this should be the least of my concerns, but I think worrying about this helps keep me from worrying or stressing about whether this IVF will work or not. Anyway, just wondering about others' experiences.
Thanks! ![]()
Re: Question re: weight gain during IF treatment
I am in the same boat. I am hoping it comes off after the babies come.
The weight gain with IF treatments just makes it that much more unfair.

I don't know but I've wondered the same thing. I don't weigh myself hardly ever. But I did almost back to back IVFs and it definately showed. When I finally got pg, when I was 6 weeks people were like "OH you're already showing!" UM NO, I'm not. I took tons of medications and I just gained alot of weight, but thanks.
I really hope to start doing those home workouts after the baby is born. I say that now, but who knows, lol.
Good luck, it WILL be worth it!
I gained about 30lbs while stimming for all of my iui's. I'd say I lost all but 10lbs. I gained maybe 10lbs while stimming for my ivf cycle and it's stuck w/ me.
I am getting over an intestional virus and w/ that I lost about 5lbs. So I guess of the recent weight I gained I only have 5lbs that I am hanging on to.
But it will be worth it in the end!

I gained 17 pounds going through IF treatment.
But, on the bright side, I am 22 weeks along and am only up 1 pound from my pre pregnancy weight (technically I am up 18 pounds from my pre-IF treatment weight, but still not terrible). Much of the IF weight was bloating.
