side lying BF position always = wet spot

Why is that when I nurse DS using side lying position there is always this huge wet spot on the bed? Anyone else have this problem?

Yes. I have a strong let down... nursing = wet spot. I'm hoping this gets better over time. I really want to nurse in bed.

Yes...sometimes its bigger than others...but then again, I can have wet spots in the other positions too, it just seems like sometimes it comes out too fast for her and leaks out the side of her mouth or something. Drives me crazy though!

Me too.  I think because they can let some drip out of their mouths.  Between me and the baby spitting up I feel like their is breastmilk all over my house.

I had this... I still get one from DS's spit up! I always put one of the burp cloths underneath him to catch it all.

I usually put a burp cloth down when I nurse in bed. But, I noticed that she always spits up a ton after I nurse her this way. Strange.

Yup -I always keep a receiving blanket under us.  At least they are good for something!

I just figured this position out two nights ago and had a huge wet spot. Last night I put a burping cloth down first.

Occasionally we have the spot, but I find he needs to burp less in this position...

I feel your pain....the entire ground floor of our house is covered with that sour milk smell!  Yummy! 

And, I sleep on a big burp cloth because of the joys of nursing in my sleep:)
