I want to bake a cake

it'sbabytime

but not just a cake, I want to bake it and decorate it all pretty with homemade buttercream frosting or maybe even play with some fondant.

last night I was browsing through the channels and I ran across the food network cake challenge. I swear if it werent for the the fact that is was 10 at night, I wouldve ran out to buy all the supplies and fired up the oven.

who here bakes and decorates awesome cakes?

i bake cakes but i suck at decorating them

I used to decorate cakes but haven't done it in years. I did my sister's wedding shower cake and used to do our family birthday cakes. My dh can bake a mean cake but these days I just buy a can of icing and slap it on!

I did bake banana bread this weekend. And instead of nuts, I added mini chocolate chips. Turned out great!

I love to bake but am absolutely terrible at decorating.  I keep hinting to DH that as a Mother's Day present I would love to take the Wilton's cake decorating class at JoAnn Fabrics.
