The pedi today told me to try a different schedule and if the babies cooperate that means they will lose 1 feeding. I don't want them to lose that much milk so would you increase all of their other meals which means they get much more or just try to add the feeding they are missing back in somewhere? If this doesn't make sense let me know and I'll get more specific but I'd love your opinions. TIA!
Re: Not sure what to do Re: feeding...WWYD?
I think it depends -- how much are they eating now in oz per day? There are some charts (found via google) that say the range of oz your babies should be eating per day based on their current weight. If they are within that range even with dropping a feeding you might be alright. If they aren't within the range, or if they seem like they are still hungry you can try adding 1 oz to each feeding or a few feedings (like the one before bedtime).
They are currently eating 2oz at each feeding and the Pedi said to do 2.5oz at midnight to try to get them to sleep until 5am. I don't want to lose 1.5oz (they'll get the .5 at midnight) so I'm thinking I'll increase each feeding to 2.25 and the midnight to 2.5 for starters. What do you think?
Currently it's 2oz at 3, 6, 9,12
Proposed is feed at midnight, 5am (assuming they sleep that long), 8:30, noon, 3, 6, 9
I think we are going to do 2.25oz at all feedings at 2.5 at midnight
