Induced because of size/GD...

Let me start by saying I know that ultrasounds are notorious for being off when it comes to baby's size...

I have insulin-dependent GD, and the plan is to induce during 39w.

I had three growth ultrasounds earlier in the pregnancy (last one at 29w), and they estimated that baby would be around 8 pounds. Great for a GD baby! OB decided that we were done with growth ultrasounds.

However, during my weekly BPP, the u/s tech noticed that baby is getting "huge" and my OB has ordered another growth ultrasound for later today.

I'm nervous that they are going to estimate that baby really is much larger than anticipated, and push for an earlier induction based on size.

Has anyone been induced due to size? How early?

I know it's not a great reason to be induced early, but I'm trying to see if anyone has any experience, so I can be a little prepared in case they bring it up today...

I wasn't induced because of size. In fact I wasn't induced at all but I did have GD and had an 8lb 9oz baby girl. I delivered at 38w5d

Yes, 39 weeks 1 day. They thought he was close to 8lbs via u/s at 38 weeks 1 day, he delivered at 9lbs even.

At 37 weeks, they estimated DS to be 7.5 pounds. He was born on his due date (I was having contractions, so they went ahead and started an induction because of an irregular NST). He was born 8 lbs 7 oz.?

?I was on insulin the last 3 weeks.?

I had GD, they estimated ds at 7lb 10oz at 38w, I was induced at 39w for low fluid and ds was 7lb 2oz
