Tax Return!

Just talked to our tax guy....I owe $290.00Sad

BUT DH gets $2500 back!! Sounds good to me! or now we will put the money away until I start getting my sick pay but I am thinking we may get a bedroom set (as wel currently have cardboard box furniture in our room! So happy!

  • I know you're in CA and don't know the tax info there, but do you not file jointly? Here it's usually more beneficial to file jointly unless you have an odd reason to file individually to get more out of medical expenses, etc.
  • I am not good with tax stuff, but I *think in Canada you can only file together if one of you is a dependent, as in makes under a certain amount. We are both RNs and make a deceant income. We don't have any medical expenses as we have national healthcare and health benefits through work. We actually have very straight forward tax returns, just my student lonas to claim & then our investments. As far as I know we have to file seperately OR its better to do so. Everyone I personally know files seperatley.
