2nd Trimester

efortune . . .

first of all, i'm flattered by your girl crush on me and my family. . .hahaha!!

secondly, ENJOY your little girl. I know you weren't taking your frustrations out on ME at all. i never even saw that post yesterday. mine wasn't a warning at all. i just didn't realize that even happened at this day and age until it happened to ppl i know and found the story very interesting. i'm sure everyone here is smart enough to know that it's not 100% accurate, but if you have a good money shot then i'm sure it's correct. just ignore the girls trying to tell you otherwise.

Re: efortune . . .

  • Thanks, haha, its just annoying, and usually hit and run posts... hop in to "warn" everyone to not be excited about thier girl, then run back out.  I never cared either way if it was boy or girl, I just want a healthy baby to love.  Its just like a lot of post topics that come up again and again in 2nd tri(sex posts, tanning posts, to test or not to test posts).  It is interesting how it happens to people though, even when they are told boy.  Always a risk of it being wrong until the baby is out, just prefer not to be reminded of it every day!

And you really do have an adorable family, I love all your pictures.  Your sons will grow up to be heart breakers!  I'm betting on a little girl for you this time.

  • I seriously don't even know what I would DO with a little girl! haha!! After 14 years of raising boys I think I'd be lost. haha!
  • Efortune, you've got to stop taking personal offense to this post!!! It was something my husband told me about him seeing in his medical practice, and I thought it was important for people to know - because it is possible that some people might not know that when they are told one thing, it could turn out to be another!

I certainly did not post my warning yesterday just to upset you - if you are confident that you are having a girl - than that's fantastic! Some people get a great shot in their ultrasound and they know for sure - that is wonderful! However, not everyone does. It was merely a warning to be careful if you aren't 100% sure. I'm not trying to make you not enjoy your girl - I'm just trying to help others that might be in a different situation than you are.

As far as this: "its just annoying, and usually hit and run posts... hop in to "warn" everyone to not be excited about thier girl, then run back out.", that was totally uncalled for - I responded to one of the messages, and kept tabs on the post for the rest of the afternoon until no one was posting anymore. There was nothing more for me to comment on. I certainly did not 'run back out'. And I certainly wasn't 'warning everyone not to be excited about their girl' - like I said already - if you've got the good shot of it, then great! Excellent! But please just realize that not everyone gets that good shot. I AM excited for your girl - I think it is wonderful!!! I am excited for anyone and what they know they are having! I just want the people who AREN'T 100% sure to know that there is room for error. As far as it being posted about often, I am on the site daily - most of the day actually (yes, you can flame me for not having anything better to do - I really don't right now) - and I don't remember coming across another post about this. My sincere apologies if this is something that I have missed!

I certainly hope that you don't think that each and every post on this board is directed specifically at YOU! I'm sorry to say, but your offence about this post is just really unfounded.

  • lol I said its annoying, just like many posts on here are annoying when they are posted again and again and again.  It doesnt upset me, as I said, it is just plain annoying.  It is a very frequent post and becomes tiresome, just like all the testing and tanning posts, and yes, its usually a hit and run post, and some have said the lines "Dont be excited yet" or "Dont buy pink."  Its even often said just when people announce they are having a girl.  It was said when I posted I was having a girl.  Its not just your post, its the theme of the post in general.

That being said I did find your post yesterday to be unneeded and beating a dead horse so to speak considering how often the same information/topic is posted.  Its just my opinion.  No hard feelings.

  • And pregnology tickers are widely considered gross and offensive on the boards.  Just a tip.
