I'm about to beg for some when I go to my appointment on Thursday.
Tums keep it at bay for maybe 20 minutes if I'm lucky. Zantac will help me while I sleep until food is digested, but the rest of the day I'm miserable.
I take Tagamet 2x daily as prevention and it's worked really well for the last 10 days. It was so horrible I would get sick from the acid reflux:( I'm sorry you're having to cope with it too. I know it sounds crazy BUT I read in a homeopathic book that a tsp of white vinegar as a "shot" or a pickle would help and it DOES every time for me now. Anti-acids trick your body into producing more acid because it doesn't think it has enough. That's why tums are only good for occassional heart burn vs. chronic every day acid indigestion! Try it out and tell me if it works for you. BEWARE: It's gross so I've done the pickle route lately and that's so much better:)
yes yes yes! During my last pregnancy I suffered too long.. and finally begged for something. She tried Zantac.. no luck.. then she gave me Protonix! OMG.. it truely is the wonder drug! My second pregnancy I began getting heartburn almost instantly... I'm back on Protonix.. and I haven't had a touch of heartburn since! its a one pill in the morning cure! SOOOOOOOO good!
