What did you do when this started happening to you? DS is BFed except we give him 1 bottle of formula per night so I can pump to build a stash for wen I will be away for a weekend. He was awake last night 4 times for an hour each (on top of the feeding when he went right back to sleep). He was only hungry 2 of those times. But was WIDE awake. How did you deal with this? Did you start sleep training then? Did you just ride it out? I used to be a patient person, but sadly, since DS arrived, I have ZERO patience. I know this doesn't help matters, but it is just the way it is. I need tips for dealing with having to soothe him to sleep for hours at a time. It's sooo frustrating!!

Re: 4 Month Wakeful - How Did You Deal?
DD started the wakeful period at about 3.5 months. She also hit a growth spurt, so we were up for 2 night feedings. She's back down to one night feeding now. For the most part, we just ignore her when she's awake. She doesn't fuss, she just talks, squeals, laughs, etc. We sometimes pop the paci in her mouth, but she pulls it out again to start talking. I turn on her projection (still loving my baby crack machine) and let her talk and laugh. It's not a perfect solution, but I get to stay in my warm bed and she usually puts herself back to sleep.
DH gets frustrated if it's a long talk fest and he'll go in and rock her to sleep. He did this last night. She fell asleep quickly, and then woke up almost as soon as he was back in bed and started talking again.
It's cute, but also frustrating.
