I just triggered last night for IUI#6. This was my first cycle after my lap in February. In previous cycles, I had been a poor responder ? I was up to 225iu Follistim and only getting 1-2 follicles. I also have a low AFC of 9 and am 33 y.o. For this cycle, my RE agreed to bump up my dosage to 300iu for 2 days, then 225iu for 5 days. I went in for my first u/s yesterday, and holy cow??I was ready to trigger after only 7 days of stims. My lining was excellent at 10.5mm, and it never has been that good. I rarely get above 8mm. I had 6 follicles that were mature, between 21-15mm.
I know some of you might be freaking out over that number, but my doctor and I were both ok with proceeding given my history. I?ve had 3 c/p?s, numerous failed cycles, possible immune issues, and diminished ovarian reserve, so I don?t have the best chances. He was confident that not all of them would fertilize and implant, but did say there was a chance of multiples. I am ok with this. I have had cycles with 4 follicles and still gotten a BFN. Also, 2 of the follicles are on my left side, where my tube isn?t all that great ? a bit ?tortuous? as my RE described it. So, I don?t have a lot of faith in that side working.
Anyway? I was concerned that I stimmed so quickly this time. Usually it takes me 12-13 days. I've only had one other cycle where I stimmed this quickly, and it was a c/p. I?m sure it is in part due to the higher dose for 2 days, and maybe because we removed endo from both ovaries during my lap. But, I?ve always heard it?s better to stim slowly. Did anyone else stim for 7 days and still have success? I?m hoping this didn?t negatively impact my egg quality even more. Any advice is appreciated J

Re: Anyone stim for only 7 days? Worried...
I stimmed for 9 days and was successful. I've actually heard it's better to stim quickly, but I don't know how accurate that is.
Wishing you the best!!
I did, and it was the IUI that I got my BFP. I did-225in of Gonal-F on CD4&5then 150iu CD6-10. Ovidrel on CD12, IUI on CD14. I had 5 follies at 20+ the day of IUI and I ended up with twins. I lost one much later on though.
GL!
I stimmed for 7 days for my IVF and I am pregnant now...I asked my RE about stimming so quickly at the appt I had after my fresh cycle and he was not concerned at all.
I think if your E2 was through the roof there'd be more reason to be concerned about poor egg quality.
Good luck!!
I'm not sure how IUI & IVF compare w/ this but I stimmed for IVF for 7 days & had 8 follies retrieved, 7 fertilized. I had a c/p w/ first transfer & am now pregnant w/ twins from FET.
GL!!!!!!!!
