Is this silly? And a poll!

DH and I have fallen in love with the name Annabelle.  We're trying to decide on a MN now.  Granted, we've got loads of time because I'm not even pg yet, but thinking about names keeps me from thinking about my infertility and the TTTC board is too depressing to be on all the time.  So I'm here instead.  We both like Annabelle Grace, as have most voters, but I also LOVE Grace as a first name.  It wasn't first on the list for our first DD because we wanted to honor DH's late mother.  Am I silly to want to keep that for a second daughter, which we may never have?  Anyone else have to decide this?  I'm just trying to weigh "losing" Grace as a MN versus possibly "losing" it all together by waiting for a second DD.[Poll]

I don't think it's silly at all that you may want to "save" Grace. I love Annabelle Rose. I think shorter nn's sound the best w/ Annabelle. (Kate, Claire, Hope, Jane...)

I voted for Annabelle Elizabeth. My best friend's 2nd daughter's name is Annabelle Elizabeth. We call her Bella. but I like that name. oh, and my grandma and neice's middle names are Elizabeth.

I didn't vote because I would have voted for Annabelle Grace, which wasn't include on the list. Here's why... I'm in a similar situation. No matter if we have a boy or a girl, DH and I want to honor my late father, John. The problem is we don't really LOVE any of our boy choices, but we're adamant that we'll include John in our first child's name somehow. If it's a girl, no problem because we love the mn Jane. Long story short, I completely empathize with your thought process. We'll probably go with the cautious side and include John for the first child (in case, god forbid, we can't have another) and just make sure we find a combo that we both really love and that also honors my dad.

I like the nn Bella and Belle too!  I LOVE Isabella, but just for the Bella part,  I wouldn't want her called Izzy.  So this seemed like a great marriage of honoring DH's mother and our love for Bella names.  So I think she could go by either nn.  Annie if she likes simple and normal and Bella if she likes things elegant.  We'll have to see her personality!

I love the name Annabelle!!  I like Annabelle Lee, like Poe's poem. :-)  But I voted for Annabelle Hope.  I think it flows really well and Hope is a beautiful name that you don't see as often.  Also, I don't think it's weird to save Grace as a possible fn for later.  Obviously you are taking a risk because you may only have one daughter.  I'm not sure what I would do if I were you, but I don't think it's silly to think about it and not use it as a mn for a girl the first time around so you can use it as a fn later.  Good luck TTC!

I voted for Hope, but I also like Faith. They both sound really nice with Annabelle and aren't too common. Rose is really overdone as a middle name. Unless it's a family name I'd choose something else.?

Rose is my middle name and I love it.  I would love to pass it on but it's not one of my first choices because I don't want it to seem like I'm naming her after myself.  DH's dad did that to him, and he's not even a junior, he's a II and his father just assumed that forever and ever there would be a legacy of Douglas Franklin's.  Really quite annoying, and we won't be doing that.  FIL is an egomaniac, as evident by the assumed legacy name.

I voted for Annabelle Rose.    All of your mn's for Annabelle work well, IMHO, except for Elizabeth.  I love Elizabeth, it is my middle name - but Annabelle Elizabeth isn't the easiest to say.
