Indian prefolds

I bought two of these with all of my pocket diapers. I figured at the very least I could use them for extra material to insert into the pocket diapers. Should I try to get a cover or two to see how they do on their own? It a prefold and a cover sufficient for daytime wetting or would I need to add hemp or something else to keep her dry? I am nervous to try anything besides pockets at this point. I guess I would also need to get a snappi, right?

If your DD's poops are solid, you won't need a snappi.  You can just trifold the prefold and stick it in the cover.  And, yes, the prefolds should be awesome for daytime wetting.  They are super absorbent.  The only difference is that they don't have any sort of stay-dry liner.  You'll want to change her when she's wet or get a fleece liner to use with it.
