When did you start lifting things? My OB said to wait 6 weeks. It has been so difficult not being able to lift Logan. Either my mom, mil or husband has been home with us each day. I'm very ready to be able to lift L. It has been so difficult to not be as involved with her care as I was before Miles was born.
Also, when did you feel comfortable lifting the baby in the carseat? That thing is heavy!
Re: C-Section moms, another question...
after Audrey, Tay was only 15 1/2 months old...and still needed lifting, into her crib, into highchair. DH stayed with me a week. The following week Tay went to daycare full time...dh dropped her off and picked her up so I was never alone with her. The week after that she went part time, and I didn't walk around carrying her, but if I had to boost her into the highchair or her crib, I would....quickly as possible and only after she was standing RIGHT by it. Soooo, probably 2 1/2 weeks I was doing a bit of lifting (also, she only weighed 20 lbs at that point. If it was a 30 lb toddler, I'd be more hesitant.)
After Mitch, we had our nanny, so our nanny would do the lifting when I needed help for the most part.

Yeah Logan is about 28 lbs.... So I'm sure I should wait a while to lift her. It is just really hard when she comes up to me with her arms up to be held.
=(
Maybe at my appt today my ob will say it's okay to lift her for short periods; like getting in the car, highchair, crib, etc....
Way too early.
DS is a 'hold me' kid, and I started picking him up at about 2 weeks. I paid for it with a much longer recovery this time around.
Wait the 6 weeks.
