DH is in love with the idea of them. I'm not so sure they make good enough coffee. I did a barista training course in university and worked at a cafe that I think made decent coffee (10x better than starbucks for those of you who are anti-SB). I tend to think the machine is important but only half the job, the person needs skill too. Nespresso SEEMS to negate that, but I'm not sure.
Currently we have my tiny espresso machine from 10 years ago (makes 1 beautiful cup but only 1). And we have a stovetop one which I use a lot too as it is bigger.
Re: IHO Mr Winery... does anyone have a nespresso?
He actually picked out a coffee maker that you can make a whole pot with and also takes those 1 serving pod thingies. And makes espresso, which I'm not interested in, but he is.
I think I might get it so I can just have a cup and not worry about grinding coffee, yada yada.
Me with my littlest.
springmom - exactly. I went to the bar exam course in NY at Times Sq. There was a SB i nthe building and short breaks that was all you could get to. I am a coffee addict and I quit cold turkey after the first time at SB. I used to get their stale madeleines but skip the drinks.
Burnt milky dishwater is my description.
We did find out that "no" Australians liked SB coffee. lol
