She always eats when she wakes because nothing else will get back to sleep but she doesnt eat much. She starts falling asleep as soon as she latches on. It seems like she wakes herself up and just cant fall back to sleep without nursing. This has been going on for about a month!

I feel ya. My DS was sleeping 6+ hours at a time at night and now all of a sudden the past few nights it's every 3 hours. If this keeps up the DH is going to start waking up and the DS bottles. Mama can't take this lack of sleep!
Our DS does the same exact thing! When he does wake up he wants to eat, but only takes around 2 oz. The only thing is for us is that he has never slept longer than that...ever! He has only slept for 5 hours a few times. I wish I had some advice but I am in the same situation as you are.
I imagine it has to get better because I too am exhausted and DH just sleeps through it. grrrr.
do you swaddle? DS hated it at first and a few nights ago nothing would make him so we started swaddling again and now get a 5 hour stretch of sleep!
Yep, swaddling helps a lot. DS sleeps through the night (8-10 hours at a time) and one thing that I think helped us get there was making sure he sleeps plenty during the day. I nap him every 2 hours at the most. Before 2 months, he slept horribly at night--up every 2-4 hours!--but then I started making sure he slept well during the day and it really made a difference. Try it if you're not already!
